IFFCO MD virtually tours Paradeep; Unit Head offers digital bouquets!

The continuous spike in Corona infections across the country has not stopped IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi from reviewing the working of IFFCO plants spread across the country with the help of technology. Dr Awasthi is virtually visiting and interacting with officials of various units.

On Monday resuming his virtual tour, Dr Awasthi visited its Odisha based Paradeep Plant and took stock of the situation. The plant head K J Patel and other representatives welcomed Awasthi through bouquets and other things.

During the visit, Patel showed what measures the plant has taken in the wake of coronavirus. He explained how safety is maintained at the entry point of the plant with the help of a safety Kiosk and thermal scanner which was praised by the top-notch officials of IFFCO who were connected from Delhi through Video Conferencing. The Paradeep Plant head also showed fire and safety measures put in place by the unit.

Awasthi visited the product handling section unit of Paradeep Plant and took stock of the situation. Later, he visited the Phosphoric Acid plant at the Paradeep Plant which also happens to be the world’s largest Phosphoric Acid Plant and also interacted with the young engineers and the team managing it on the occasion.

Besides, the IFFCO MD also saw the Sulphuric Acid Plant and took stock of various new and upcoming sections and areas in the said plant. Afterwards, he made a visit to the river jetty with Joint MD Rakesh Kapur.

In his trip, he also surveyed the work being carried out for the new railway siding. Sharing the news through social media the IFFCO MD wrote on twitter, ” Had an invigorating discussion with the young professionals at the Paradeep Unit. A bright lot with lots of new ideas. I always make it a point to have an interactive session with our young workforce wherever I go and this virtual meeting was no different”.

Readers would recall that earlier, the IFFCO MD had toured virtually Aonla Unit and Phulpur Unit and overseen the working of the plant during Covid-19. The news had caught the fancy of many co-operators who lauded the MD for his penchant for innovative ideas.

IFFCO has five plants at Kalol, Kandla, Phulpur, Aonla and Paradeep in India and two units overseas. Apart from its core fertiliser business, IFFCO has also diversified into General Insurance, Rural Retail, Farm Forestry, Rural Telecom, Agrochemicals and others.
