IFFCO: MD finishes off at the feet of Baba Vishwanath

There could not be a destination better than the city of Baba Vishwanath to finish off a grand journey which begun a year ago from Gujarat. Yes, you guessed it right! IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi’s Farmers’ Connect Campaign was wound up here this week amidst chanting mantras and devotional ambience at the temple of Baba Vishwanath.

Awasthi was with his entire team that included Yogendra Kumar, Jeetendra Tiwari, Harshendra Verdhan to name only a few. Even his better half Mrs Rekha Awasthi chose to be present on the occasion conveying perhaps the message that she does not mind his absence if he is busy uplifting the lot of the farmers of the country.

An emotional Awasthi concluded “Today I am at the last destination of my journey- Varanasi. It is the 125th destination of IFFCO Meet. #50years of IFFCO.”

On this occasion, Awasthi was also accompanied by several IFFCO directors. The team did not forget to do what it has been doing at other destinations- agri exhibition, health check-ups and a boost to local art and culture.

Remembering his past Dr U S Awasthi said it was in Varanasi and at Banaras Hindu University that he studied Chemical Engineering. “125th #IFFCO farmer & cooperative meet of #50yearsofIFFCO is being held at #BanarasHinduUniversity.I studied chemical engineering from #BHU, he tweeted on the occasion.”

The IFFCO team also worshiped Lord Hanuman in the famous Sankat Mochan Temple. Dr U S Awasthi had started his journey roughly a year ago from Mehsana, Gujarat covering 125 destinations from Kashmir to Kanyakumari through the year. He met over 4 crore farmers.

IFFCO will have the grand finale event on 3 November 2017 in Kalol, Gujarat which will climax its Golden Jubilee celebrations. Incidentally, the world renowned fertilizer cooperative was born at Kalol.
