IFFCO MD aims to bring cost-effective tech driven solutions to farmers in 2021

IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi has been writing his new year message for his team every year. The message is a kind of IFFCO’s vision document that spells out the challenges as well as the preparations to overcome them in future. The MD seems to convey that the year 2021 belongs to Nano technology. His focus is on farmers. Bringing innovative cost-effective technology driven solutions to them is the gist of the message. Dear Friends,

A very Happy & Prosperous New Year to you all!

We have now entered into the New Year 2021 with strong expectations for all of us across the globe to become pandemic free, bringing joy and prosperity to everyone.

I am confident that with ongoing scientific research, we will certainly get an effective vaccine to fight against COVID-19, which took many lives including our loved ones across the globe. Let it be an opportunity to re-start the new decade with a fresh set of goals and to chase them with renewed enthusiasm in an environmentally sustainable manner. Social Distancing, Mask, Good Sanitization, Vaccine & Environment will continue to regulate our lives as we come out of the pandemic situation.

Friends, we have to continue to work vigorously while pursuing our goals of providing quality nutrition for crops and soil along with best services to Indian farmers to enable them to grow better foods and strengthen the development of cooperatives across the country and globe.

We at IFFCO are always committed to our farmers in providing them with innovative, effective, affordable and environment-friendly crop solutions. In this endeavor, as you are aware, IFFCO has already taken a giant step by introducing the most revolutionary Nanotechnology based products, which may be a game changer in the Nutrient Management of Soil. It is with profound satisfaction, I wish to inform that now Nano Urea is expected to be included in F.C.O. shortly.

We pride ourselves on the fact that these products have been researched and developed indigenously at our state of-the-art IFFCO Nano Biotechnology Research Centre (NBRC) in Kalol Unit, Gujarat. First plant will put up at Kalol. We will extend its production facilities to many locations in order to make them available across the country at lower cost. The correct usage of Nano Urea will reduce the requirement of conventional Urea and deliver perfect nutrition to the plant in an environmentally sustainable manner with higher Nutrient Use Efficiency and crop yields.

Besides the thrust on expanding our product portfolio, we are continuing with our efforts in improving the efficiency of our production and marketing verticals. I am happy to share that these efforts have yielded considerably positive results.

We have also taken several other initiatives on the business strategy as well. Our foray into food processing and organic food segments will benefit the farmers by providing them access to markets with better realization for their agri-produce. The new look of our online e-commerce portal: www.iffcobazar.in is attracting good response and becoming popular among the farmers. It is much easy to buy our products anywhere in India online now.

These steps are in line with our vision of growing sustainably in the years to come. Apart from helping the Indian farmers holistically, I am confident that these efforts will also contribute towards realizing Hon’ble PM’s vision of doubling farmer’s income by 2022.

We need to remember that we belong to a farmer driven cooperative institution. Hence keeping focus on farmers is what that matters to us. Together we need to work for their benefit and growth by bringing more innovative cost-effective technology driven solutions for them. Let us keep growing sustainably with constant innovations and carry forward this vigor and enthusiasm in the New Year as well.

On that note, I wish you and your families a very Happy New Year 2021 and take this opportunity of thanking you all for your continuous support and cooperation.

Stay Safe, Stay Healthy.

Dr U S Awasthi
