IFFCO: Kumar vows to fulfill MD’s dream

“It is a challenge and a daunting one at that”, said newly appointed Marketing Director of IFFCO Yogendra Kumar to Indian Cooperative, whose phenomenal rise in the hierarchy of the cooperative titan IFFCO as Marketing Director has become the talk of the town.

“I know I have been placed here to fulfill the dream of our MD Dr U S Awasthi who wants to fight exploitation of farmers by fake agencies and substandard products”, underlined Kumar emphasizing the need to achieve a fine balance between the growth of IFFCO and the farmers of the country.

“Growth of organic products along with neem-coated urea would be my priorities; another equally important area of focus would be farmer-centric schemes”, said Kumar who sounded upbeat about some new ideas in this context.

Dominating a huge desk in the sprawling office-chamber earmarked for Marketing Director at IFFCO Sadan in Delhi, Kumar said “as I have been made the head of marketing division my job would be – take IFFCO products to the remotest parts of the country.”

Kumar mentioned South India in the context and said there is a huge demand for our products out there and we have to work out strategies to reach out to the so-far-untouched farmers of the region.

The new Marketing Director who took over last Friday also paid glowing tributes to the vision of IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi for launching Indian Cooperative Digital platform. “In just one year we have connected 2.51 crore farmers to this platform; our target is to connect 5 crore by the end of the next financial year”, Kumar sounded optimistic.

IFFCO has recently launched free home delivery for its online sale through this platform. “So far we are doing it for non-subsidized items but a time would come when we may be able to offer free home delivery for subsidized items as well.

Re-echoing the national mood of the country about going digital Yogendra Kumar said our MD Dr Awasthi aims to move shoulder to shoulder with the govt of India on this account and aims to bridge the divide between rural and urban India. “MD wants to create Digital Bharat keeping pace with Digital India”, Kumar added.

“The job is tough but I have the blessings of one of the finest minds in the fertilizer sector; I will pull through with his blessings”, concluded Kumar referring to Dr Awasthi who was instrumental in convincing the Board of Kumar’s knack of achieving the set targets.
