IFFCO is a friend of farmers: Sahakar awardees

KEVEAL KRISHNA SHARMAIFFCO Sahakarita Ratna award was presented to Shri Ravindra Pratap Singh, Cooperator & Social reformer from Chhattisgarh and IFFCO Sahakarita Bandhu award to Shri Keval Krishan Sharma, cooperator from Punjab.

Both of them profusely thanked IFFCO for the recognition. A cheque of Rs 5 lakh was presented to each, among other things. I was a cooperative inspector in 1967 when IFFCO came into being and soon started a scramble for becoming its member, recollected Keval Krishna Sharma. It has fashioned out a work-culture worth-emulating for other cooperatives, he said amidst thunderous claps.

Sharma is a Director on the Board of NAFCUB and is the Chairman of Jalandhar based Citizen Urban Cooperative Bank. Eulogizing IFFCO Sharma said that IFFCO is no more just a cooperative but has become synonym of “Friend of Kisan” in rural areas.

Ravindra Pratap Singh, another awardee thanked IFFCO MD for his able leadership. It was number one in the country but now it has become number one globally, Shri Singh said. Today IFFCO has spread out across the states and credit for this goes to Dr Awasthi and his team, he added.

The winners of the Sahakar awards felt three qualities of IFFCO make it stand out, and these are work-culture, humility and dedication of the team.
