IFFCO Director figures in Aviation Ministry Panel

Iffco’s Director Mr R P Singh has been made a member in a new panel set up by Civil Aviation Ministry to sort out the integration of huge number of staff in the wake of merger of Indian Airlines and Air India.

The three member panel has two joint secretaries Prashant Shukul and A K Sinha of Civil Aviation Ministry and Department of Public Enterprises respectively.

The panel’s job is to examine the recommendations of Justice Dharmadhikari Committee which had submitted its report on January 31 on integration of the erstwhile state-owned airlines – Air India and Indian Airlines employees.

Cash-strapped Air India has suffered three strikes since its merger.

Talking to Indiancooperative.com Shri R P Singh, Iffco Director said that he was happy with the inclusion in the high powered panel. “I am yet to understand the nitty-gritty of the matter though, he added.

Inclusion of cooperative professionals in high-powered government committees signals the maturity of cooperative movement, no doubt. Indian Cooperative wishes Mr Singh a fruitful engagement.
