IFFCO covers it all-from Kisan to Jawan

Soon after meeting farmers in Siliguri and Gangtok the caravan of IFFCO MD Dr U S Awasthi headed towards India-China border at NathulaPass to meet the jawans guarding Indian frontiers in extreme weather conditions.

An overwhelmed Awasthi tweeted ” Walked around the area. Proud of our soldiers who safeguard our borders in harsh conditions.” In the next tweet he said “ Indian Army defend the borders of country & #IFFCO defends the supply line of food grain. We salute our patriotic soldiers #JaiJawanJaiKisan.”

Awasthi also felt touched when later the Garrison Commander at NatuL paid a call on him and offered him a surprise gift from Indian Army – his visit to the Field Marshal KM Cariarpa Conference Hall at Nathula Pass.

Earlier, the MD team landed a Bagdogra and drove to Siligui to a warm reception of assembled farmers from the area. The IFFCO team interacted with each farmer and patiently heard their problems.

In Gangtok as in Siliguri IFFCO MD stressed on the need to organize around cooperatives for greater benefits.

Special guests from cooperatives and the dept of agriculture from West Bengal were welcomed and felicitated on the occasion. Cultural shows added to the richness of the event.
