IFFCO celebrates Telangana Day by opening Bazar

IFFCO has opened the latest bazaar at Telangana which was inaugurated by the state Information Technology Minister K.T.Rama Rao, in its series of launching IFFCO bazars across the country. Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank Chairman Ravindra Rao was also present on the occasion.

IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi shared the news, “Happy to share that on #TelanganaFormationDay, #IFFCO started home delivery of #IFFCO fertilizers & other products from #IFFCObazar centre. The center inaugurated by by Sh. K Taraka Rama Rao, IT Minister, Govt of #Telangana. Ravindra Rao, Chairman, TSCAB was also present”.

Earlier, MD Awasthi congratulated the people of the state by tweeting “My Best Wishes to the people of #Telangana on the occasion of 4th Telangana Formation Day. I wish for growth, prosperity and happiness for the state & it’s people. “

Few people know that co-operative movement is pretty strong in the state of Telangana. The number of co-operatives in the state is only second to Maharashtra. In fact, Gujarat which is often held as a state studded with cooperatives has mere 62 thousand and is behind Telangana which has 65 thousand viable cooperatives.

That explains why IFFCO is focusing on Telangana increasingly, said one of the officials. “These bazaars aim to provide products like Urea, Fertilizers, NPK, DAP and others under one roof and would be off great help to the state farmers”, he added.

Readers would recall that last week the fertilizer cooperative had opened IFFCO Bazar in Kesariya, Bihar which was launched by the Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh.

And in the month of May IFFCO had opened three more Bazars in Parsathua and Kargahar in Rohtas district of Bihar and Thottiyam in Tiruchirapalli district of Tamilnadu taking the total number of such bazars to approximately 450.

While majority of these bazars are directly owned by IFFCO, there are about 160 of them which are run on Franchise, said an IFFCO official.

Presently, products being made available to the farmers include seeds, fertilizers, bio fertilizers, pesticide, bio stimulants, cattle feed etc. The facility of Soil testing is also provided through these Centers.

IFFCO Bazar also provides other Products & Services such as Health Check-up, Micro Banking, solar LED lights etc.

IFFCO Bazar has unveiled a Franchisee model and Kisan Mitra scheme to partner with the rural India and to promote Women Empowerment. These models have special Incentives for Women entrepreneurs, said an official involved with the project.
