IFFCO braces for AGM with a difference!

The scheduled IFFCO’s 46th Annual General Meeting on Wednesday (31st May) is going to be different this time round. While NCUI is being dolled up to receive delegates coming from across states, the top leadership is active giving final touches to the message for the AGM.

After talking to scores of officials, Indian Cooperative could gather that the IFFCO leadership is seeing this AGM as the beginning of a new IFFCO- a new avatar which may be described as Digital IFFCO. All emphases, all talks and all moves are laser focused on carrying the masses of farmers connected with the cooperative behemoth along the Digital pathway.

Having clocked up 50 years of glorious performance since its inception in the sixties this would mark opening up a new chapter, said officials who have interacted closely with MD Dr U S Awasthi.

It’s a new direction and a new path; it’s a path that would once again ensure the preeminence of IFFCO in the field of fertilizer cooperatives for the next 50 years, said an official. IFFCO has planned an exclusive Digital stall to educate delegates and goad them into adopting ways of the new age.

Talking to Indian Cooperative, Tarun Bhargava and Harshendra Singh Verdhan-the two IFFCO officials working closely with the MD echoed the same thought ” AGM would reflect the mood of the Golden Jubilee gaiety as the Chairman and MD have decided to treat each and every delegate with special honors. Each of them would be invited to stage- I mean each of them individually and not in a group- emphasized Harshendra who like several others have been staying on toes in the weeks preceding the AGM preparing for a grand show.

Besides Digital Stall, its cousin Indian Cooperative Digital Platform (ICDP) is going to be another big attraction in the AGM. Rolled out in Haryana recently ICDP is working on the ambitious project of connecting about four crore farmers.

Exhibition of IFFCO products will be special this time round as octanorm panels known for having light weight walls with fabric are going to be used, explained Verdhan. There is going to be electronic display and smart screens highlighting the products this time around, he added.

More than 900 delegates are participating and without a break this year again they are going to get 20 per cent dividend, informed a senior official. “They are after all the real owners as our MD has been stressing” he added.
