Covid Compulsion: IFFCO clubs Co-op Awards for two years at 50th AGM

On the occasion of the 50th Annual General Meeting held on Monday, the fertiliser cooperative IFFCO conferred the Sahakarita Ratna and Sahakarita Bandhu Awards for two years together. The awards were given away for the year 2018-19 and 2019-20.

For the year 2018-19 IFFCO chose  Ashvin.N Savaliya, Chairman AMR Dairy and S R. Rangmoorthy for Sahakarita Ratna and Sahakarita Bandhu Awards respectively.

And for the year 2019-20, while the Sahakarita Ratna award was given away to Veer Pratap Singh, the Sahakarita Bandhu award to Madanlal Rathore.

All the awardees profusely thanked IFFCO for the recognition it has given them and a cheque of Rs 11 lakh, shawls and shields, among other things.

These Awards are conferred on eminent co-operators for their distinguished and outstanding contributions towards the propagation of the cooperative ideology and strengthening of the cooperative movement.

Ashvin N Savaliya is an eminent cooperator from Gujarat. Born on June 1, 1968, Ashvinbhai has been active in the cooperative movement from a very young age. He started his career from Pratappura Service Cooperative. He has been deeply associated with the Cooperative Milk sector and has been Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation from 2011. He was instrumental in bringing- about many reforms for the better functioning of milk cooperatives.

S.R.Rangmoorthy popularly known as “chocolate man” hails from Karnataka. He has been in the forefront of Agricultural, Cooperative and Educational activities for more than four decades. He has been the President of CAMPCO, many times, one of the leading Cooperatives of the Country dealing in Arecanut, Cocoa and Rubber and has taken CAMPCO to great heights. CAMPCO boasts a Swadeshi Chocolate Factory which is the second largest in South East Asia.

Veer Pratap Singh is a veteran Cooperator from Uttar Pradesh. Born on December 28, 1959, he is founder and Promoter of several Cooperatives from District level to National levels. He is known for his effective leadership which transformed deficient cooperatives into successful cooperatives.

Madanlal Rathore is a dedicated co-operator from Madhya Pradesh. He is an ardent environmentalist and has worked for the cause of humanity. He has been associated with District Central Cooperative Bank Mandsaur & Neemuch and was elected as Chairman of these banks. He has been instrumental in organising many blood donation camps and tree plantation drives (plantation of about 10000 trees).

Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) has instituted two prestigious Awards in cooperation namely the “Sahakarita Ratna” in the year 1982-83 and the “Sahakarita Bandhu” Award in the year 1993-94 as its humble contribution to strengthen the cooperative movement.
