Ashta Bhuja Shukla bags 2015 IFFCO Shrilal Shukla Award

Continuing its tradition for the fifth year in a row IFFCO has zeroed in on the litterateur who would be bestowed with the IFFCO Shrilal Shukla Smriti Award for the year 2015. He is the well-known Shri Ashta Bhuja Shukla.

A press release from the IFFCO read” The 2015 IFFCO Shrilal Shukla Smriti Award will be presented to the renowned litterateur Ashta Bhuja Shukla on 31 January 2016 in New Delhi.”

Ace litterateur Shri Giriraj Kishore headed the selection panel which included Ajit Kumar, Murli Manhar Joshi and Dr Dinesh Kumar Shukla. The award is famed as most “valuable” in terms of carrying an amount of Rs 11 Lac along with a citation.

Ashta Bhuja Shukla has several novels to his credit including “Chait ke Badal”, “Pad Kupad”, “Duh swapan bhi aten hai” , “Ise hava me apne bhi do char sans hain”, etc.

This news was shared by IFFCO Managing Director Dr U S Awasthi soon after the name was announced by the jury. He tweeted “IFFCO 5th Shrilal Shukla Smriti Award will be given to renowned litterateur Shri Ashta bhuja Shukla”.

The press release quoted Awasthi as saying “this award is given to Hindi litterateurs whose writings reflect the struggle, ambition and life of agrarian India. IFFCO is conscious of its role towards art, culture and its preservation.”

Earlier, the award has been bagged by the likes of Shri Vidyasagar Nautial, Shri Shekhar Joshi, Shri Sanjeev and Shri Mithileswar.
