Zero Tolerance: Biscomaun rewards whistle blower

BISCOMAUN in Bihar has adopted a policy of ‘Zero Tolerance’ against graft cases related to selling of urea through the centers of the marketing federation.

In a recent case a farmer Brij Mohan Singh from Kuchaiko block, Gopalganj had gone to buy urea from the nearby Biscomaun center where the employee took five rupees extra per bag.

The farmer shared it with one of the Biscomaun Directors Mahesh Rai who in turn informed Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh of the matter. Immediately, a suspension notice was issued against the culprit.

While talking to this correspondent on the phone Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh said “A farmer Brij Mohan Singh had gone to buy 10 bags of urea from a nearby Biscomaun Centre where a functionary of the center charged extra from the farmer; we not only suspended the concerned staff-member but also rewarded the whistle blower”.

Fulfilling his promise, as advertized widely in newspapers about rewarding anyone who brings the case of corruption to the fore, Biscomaun chairman released a demand draft of Rs 1000 in the name of farmer Brij Mohan Singh. The cheque will be given to Mahesh Rai, Director Biscomaun who will hand over to the farmer, Sunil said.

Earlier, Biscomaun Chairman Sunil Kumar Singh said if any officials of selling centres will charge extra for urea, strict action will be taken against them. He added whistle-blowers will be rewarded with Rs 1000 for providing information to the concerned authorities on persons indulging in corruption.
