Mrs. Kailash Verma Chairperson Jammu and Kashmir women credit cooperative has said a women credit bank would soon be set up in Jammu.
The J and K women cooperative has sought permission from the Reserve Bank of India to allow them to establish this bank. Mrs. Verma made this announcement while speaking before a women awareness camp held in Marh Block in Jammu.
According to Mrs. Verma, the J and K women credit bank has been helping women in a big way by giving them loans for business and other activities. This is bound to help women become economically self-reliant and confident, she added.
Others who addressed the camp urged women to come forward to participate in the women credit movement and render their invaluable contribution to the growth of the banking sector in the state.
Several distinguished people including important officials associated with the women credit cooperative addressed the camp. About two hundred people participated in the camp.
