Shah hails Amul, IFFCO as World’s Top Co-ops; Patel credits his Vision

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, has congratulated Amul and the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) for securing the first two ranks among the top ten cooperatives in the world.

In a post on X, Amit Shah said, “A proud moment for Bharat! Heartiest congratulations to Amul and IFFCO for occupying the first two ranks among the top ten cooperatives in the world. It is an honour to the tireless dedication of millions of women associated with Amul and the farmers contributing to IFFCO. It is also a testament to the boundless potential of our cooperatives, which are being transformed into a global model of empowerment and self-reliance under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.”

Responding to the Union Minister’s message, IFFCO Managing Director K. J. Patel wrote, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Shri Amit Shah ji, Union Minister of Home and Cooperation. Under his able, visionary and dynamic leadership, IFFCO has once again brought pride to the nation by realising the vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’ of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, and by regaining its position as the world’s leading cooperative among the top 300 global cooperatives.”

He further said, “This achievement truly reflects the strength of India’s cooperative movement at the grassroots level, built on team spirit and the tireless efforts of millions of farmers who form the backbone of our organisation. Through continuous innovation, farmer empowerment, and promotion of sustainable agriculture using Nano Fertilisers, IFFCO remains deeply committed to strengthening the cooperative movement and contributing to the dream of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’, prosperity through cooperation.”

The IFFCO MD also expressed gratitude to Dileep Sanghani, Chairman of IFFCO, the entire Board, joint ventures, business associates, and the IFFCO family for their constant support and guidance in steering the organisation towards this remarkable success.

It may be recalled that in Doha, the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) released the *World Cooperative Monitor (WCM) 2025* report, which highlighted that the top 300 cooperatives and mutual enterprises worldwide collectively achieved a turnover of USD 2.79 trillion in 2023. Among them, India’s cooperative giants-IFFCO and Amul-have once again demonstrated their outstanding global leadership and reaffirmed India’s growing strength in the cooperative sector.
