Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated two of the country’s leading cooperatives, Amul and IFFCO, for securing the 1st and 2nd ranks respectively in the global cooperative rankings.
He took to X to laud the achievement, stating that it reflects his vision of ‘Sahkar Se Samriddhi’, which has revitalized the cooperative sector and given fresh impetus to India’s economy.
“Congratulations to Amul and IFFCO. India’s cooperative sector is vibrant and is also transforming several lives. Our government is taking numerous steps to further encourage this sector in the times to come,” PM Modi tweeted.
The global recognition of Amul and IFFCO underscores the strength and potential of India’s cooperative institutions. Both organizations have not only excelled in business performance but have also played a significant role in empowering farmers and rural communities across the country.

Sanghani further added that the cooperative sector has been brought to the vanguard of India’s growth trajectory ever since the duo of Modi and Shah assumed leadership. With a dedicated and large membership base of cooperatives across India, it is no wonder that co-ops can serve as engines of growth for the country.
He also expressed gratitude to both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for their unflinching support to the sector and their prompt response to every matter concerning cooperatives.
Sanghani also traced the growth of Amul and IFFCO from Gujarat from a very humble beginning and lauded the subsequent leadership for its magnificent growth.
IFFCO Managing Director K. J. Patel also extended his heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to the Prime Minister for his encouraging words and inspiring vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”. He said that as a result of this vision, IFFCO has once again brought glory to the nation by contributing towards building an Aatmanirbhar Krishi and an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, paving the way for Samruddh Kisan and Viksit Bharat.
He added that under the able and dynamic leadership of Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home and Cooperation, IFFCO has regained its position as the world’s leading cooperative among the Top 300 Global Cooperatives.
This achievement, Patel noted, is a true reflection of the strength and resilience of India’s cooperative movement, powered by the spirit, unity, and tireless efforts of millions of farmers who form the backbone of IFFCO.
Through continuous innovation, farmer empowerment, and the promotion of sustainable agriculture-especially through the introduction of Nano Fertilisers-IFFCO remains deeply committed to strengthening farmers, agriculture, and the cooperative movement, contributing to the Prime Minister’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi.”

Respected Sir, You have transformed the cooperative sector with revolutionary reforms to realise your own slogan of “Sahkar se Samriddhi” in a short span of time which is beyond my own and perhaps anybody’s imagination who have known the sector well , in previous at least 3 decades before the ministry was created and given under the stewardship of the present iron man of India ,merely as a breeding ground of corruption, a hub of untrained & low paid work- force, un – maintained office, department considered to be a place of inferior posting for government offices. It was turned upside down in no time truly in line with your vision from PACS to National cooperative institutions giving a new impetus to cooperative movement in the country and worldwide. It’s the cooperative sector wherein lies the true potential to bring economic and social change amongst rural folks particularly the downtrodden unprivileged and deprived.I wish the cooperative movement is strengthened further and touches the new heights. All the very best sir ! Regards. Dr. I. B. Singh, Former Chief General Manager (M),
