The 10th Annual General Meeting of the Federation representing Multi-State Credit Societies in Maharashtra and Karnataka was held in Pune, bringing together chairpersons, chief executive officers, officials and office-bearers to deliberate on the changing landscape and challenges facing credit cooperatives.
The AGM was chaired by Federation Founder Chairman Suresh Wable and focused on issues concerning the functioning of Multi-State Credit Societies, changing regulatory norms, member interests, institutional challenges and the need to strengthen cooperative institutions.
A key highlight of the meeting was a resolution congratulating Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister of State for Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol for the establishment of the Divisional Office of the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) in Pune. The Federation had been pursuing the demand for a divisional CRCS office in Pune for a long time.
Addressing the AGM, Wable urged member institutions to regularly pay their annual subscription to the Federation and said the organisation would continue working to provide a common platform for Multi-State Credit Societies from Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The meeting also reviewed the Federation’s activities during the previous year and discussed its upcoming programmes and plans. Participants emphasised the need for greater transparency, stronger governance and a member-centric approach in the functioning of credit cooperatives amid changing financial and regulatory conditions.
The Federation also highlighted its role in enabling cooperative institutions from the two states to exchange views, share experiences and jointly deliberate on issues affecting the sector.
Among those present were Federation Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. V.S. Ankalakote Patil, directors Kadu Bhau Kale, Vitthal Wadge, Ajinath Hajare, Shivajirao Kapale, Ravindra Kanade, Narayan Khandekar, Magaraj Rathi, Sukumar Patil and Jaisingh Pandit, besides other office-bearers.
Ashokrao Tekawade, Chairman of Ajit Multi-State Cooperative Credit Society and former MLA, was also present. Karnataka was represented by cooperative leaders including Tatyasaheb Patil, Ashokrao Bankapure and Adv. S.S. Gadge, among others.
The AGM concluded with a resolve to undertake further initiatives through the Federation to strengthen coordination, mutual cooperation and collective efforts among Multi-State Credit Societies in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
