Andhra Pradesh cooperator Vallabhaneni Sudhakar Chowdhary was elected as the new Chairman of KRIBHCO, while veteran cooperative leader Chandra Pal Singh Yadav secured the position of Vice-Chairman. Both bring extensive experience in strengthening India’s cooperative movement, particularly in the fertilizer and agriculture sectors.
The much-anticipated elections for the office-bearers of Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) concluded on Monday, marking a significant development in the cooperative sector. With single nominations filed for both top posts, the elections resulted in unanimous selections.
It was notable that two ministers, one from the Union government and the other from the state of Uttar Pradesh, visited the NCUI headquarters to ensure smooth elections. A top leader said the government always aims for a smooth transition of power in well-performing cooperatives, and KRIBHCO is one such example.
It is learnt that the nominations were filed after intense deliberations between elected board members and the two ministers. Union Minister of State for Cooperation Muralidhar Mohol and Uttar Pradesh Cooperation Minister J.P.S. Rathore ensured that only two nominations were finalized.

When Indian Cooperative sought the reaction of outgoing Chairman Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, he downplayed the issue, stating the elections were unanimous. “We met and decided unanimously. Since I was not eligible to contest for the top post, Sudhakar Chowdhary was unanimously elected,” he added.
For the Vice-Chairman’s position, the names of Gujarat’s Maganbhai Patel and Bipin Patel were in consideration, but Bipin Patel eventually recommended Chandra Pal Singh Yadav, paving the way for his election.
NCUI President Dileep Sanghani, who was not involved in the deliberations, rushed to NCUI headquarters after being informed that the two ministers had arrived. “I do not know how it went off. I came to welcome the two ministers when I was informed of their presence,” he said, adding that the elections took place in the newly renovated NCUI Board Room.
Sudhakar Chowdhary, Founder and Managing Director of Mohan Spintex India Limited, is a prominent businessman from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Under his leadership, Mohan Spintex has become one of India’s fastest-growing and most respected home textile manufacturers. He completed his schooling at NSM Public School, Vijayawada (1978–1986) and earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Production Technologies from Babuji Institute of Education and Technology (1989–1993).
Alongside them, the newly elected Board of Directors of KRIBHCO includes R. Rajendra, Bipin Patel, Bijendra Singh, Kabita Manjari, Bhikhabhai Patel, Maganbhai Patel, Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, Ajay Rai, and Shilpi Arora.
The new leadership team is expected to steer KRIBHCO towards strengthening farmer welfare, ensuring fertilizer availability, and advancing rural prosperity and self-reliance, further consolidating its role as a pillar of India’s cooperative sector.
