GUJCOMASOL: Sanghani asserts his primacy; re-elected as Chairman

An ace cooperator and the President of apex body NCUI Dileepbhai Sanghani has been re-elected as the Chairman of Gujarat State Cooperative Marketing Federation (GUJCOMASOL) for 2^nd term, in an election held today at the federation headquarters.

Sanghani won the election uncontested. Bipinbhai Patel (Gota) was elected as the Vice-Chairman. He replaced Govindbhai Parmar. While Sanghani hails from Amreli, Patel belongs to Ahmedabad.

The newly elected Vice-Chairman is the convener of BJP Regional Cooperative Cell.

Being an important co-op institution active in procurement and distribution of agri products, on the lines of Nafed, Gujcomasol is a hot co-operative seat where both Congress and BJP try to control levers of power.  But in the elections of 32 strong board only one seat was won by the Congress the remaining seats by the BJP candidates.

Even this time around , the choice of Chairman and Vice-Chairman has been decided by the senior leaders of BJP, say informed sources.

Announcing the results JB Desai, who has been appointed as the returning officer to oversee the election process said, “Dileepbhai Sanghani and Bipin Patel were elected unopposed as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Gujcomasol”.

As soon as Sanghani and his deputy were announced as the elected , they were garlanded by their followers. Sanghani thanked one and all for supporting him in the elections.

Sanghani thanked the party and the cadre for reposing faith in him. He vowed to take the already profit-making co-op body to still greater heights. Besides doing regular activities, Gujcomasol also adds value to things catering to the needs of the farmers of Gujarat, Sanghani claimed.

Readers would recall that in the elections of the board of directors 26 were earlier elected unopposed and the elections were held on six seats. five seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, and one seat by Congress.

It bears recall that recently Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a new building of Gujcomasol at GIDC in Gandhinagar recently. The newly constructed head office of Gujcomasol spread over a big area is important for the farmers, as its spread resembles an agri field, says Sanghani.
