Guj State Co-op Bank roasted in social media for advts in Kerala newspapers

Social Media users are criticizing the Gujarat State Cooperative (GSC) Bank for giving the advertisement in Kerala newspaper where the bank does not have a single branch.

In the advertisement the bank is giving thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the creation of a new Cooperative Ministry and also congratulates Amit Shah for becoming the first cooperative minister of the country.

When Indian Cooperative contacted the bank, the Chairman Ajay Patel for his comment, he slammed the phone after listening to the question.

Later on, we contacted the CEO of the bank Pradip Vora who said, “Presently I am busy with my daughter’s marriage and I will talk to you when I join office”.

Meanwhile, one of the users on social media wrote, “The Cooperative Bank of Gujarat is advertising in Kerala newspapers thanking PM Modi and Amit Shah for creating the cooperative ministry but in a state where the bank has no branch and also people of Gujarat do not understand local Malayalam language”.

Another wrote, ” Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. It has nothing to do with the branch and language of the bank, it is just advertising by the bank.

The GSC Bank was established in 1960. Nearly 28 lakhs farmers of 8100 PACS are affiliated with it. The bank has more than 25 branches across Gujarat.

The advertisement of the Gujarat State Co-op Bank is being compared with the similar acts by the Kejriwal govt of Delhi, infamous for splurging money on advt in areas where Delhi govt has no presence.

AAP led Delhi govt spent 64 crores between April-June 2021 on ads, reveals an RTI report. Kejriwal was heavily criticized for advertising and promoting the apparent achievements of the AAP government through YouTube ads in April.
