Credit co-ops : Amin quotes Sweden to go cashless

”This is an age of technology and therefore embracing  technology by credit societies is in consonance with modern  times; even  Prime Minister  Narendrabhai Modi, keeps emphasizing the importance of technology in order to boost the economy of the country”, said Ghanshyambhai Amin while speaking on the occasion of the 20th Annual General Meeting of Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation.

The AGM was held last week in the auditorium of Gujarat State Co-operative Union in Ahmadabad. Presiding over the AGM Amin said “Co-operative Credit Societies will have to embrace technology to meet the demands of the times.

On this occasion, Amin also shared his experience of a banking seminar that he attended recently at Stockholm, Sweden under the aegis of COBI. “Two experts of the  banking sector of Sweden informed us that now they do not require to open any new branch of bank because cent percent transactions are cashless. People have adopted mobile banking and they never visit their bank branch”, Amin informed the gathering used to manual banking operations for ages.

“We have to follow Cashless Transactions and online Mobile Banking in letters and spirits. We will have to bring awareness about the technology amongst the members of co-operative Credit Society”, concluded Amin.
