Cooperatives across India celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, reaffirming their commitment to nation-building and the cooperative movement.

From national-level institutions to state, district and village cooperatives, the Tricolour was unfurled at offices and campuses as members, employees and cooperative leaders came together to mark the occasion with patriotic zeal.

Extending his greetings to the nation, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that the Tiranga symbolizes the country’s pride and the strength of its unity. Participating in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, Shah urged citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes and join the nationwide movement celebrating patriotism.

At the Phulpur unit of IFFCO in Uttar Pradesh, IFFCO President Dileepbhai Sanghani hoisted the national flag and felicitated employees for their outstanding contributions. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of promoting domestic production and trade to strengthen the vision of a self-reliant India.

In Jhansi, ICA-AP and KRIBHCO Chairman Chandra Pal Singh Yadav celebrated Independence Day with schoolchildren and participated in a flag-hoisting ceremony.

The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) celebrated the occasion at its headquarters in New Delhi in the presence of Cooperation Secretary Raman Kumar, IAS, who hoisted the national flag. NCDC officials and employees renewed their commitment to service, progress and nation-building during the ceremony.

NUCFDC President Jyotindra Mehta extended his greetings through social media, sharing the message, “Vande Mataram.”

In Gujarat, NAFCARD and Kheti Bank, under the leadership of Dolar Kotecha, organized Independence Day celebrations that included a flag-hoisting ceremony followed by a Tiranga rally.

NCCF Chairman Vishal Singh hoisted the national flag at Biscoman Bhawan and paid tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country’s independence.

National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Chairman Dr. Meenesh Shah highlighted the dairy cooperative sector’s six-decade contribution to nation-building while extending Independence Day greetings. He noted that India has remained the world’s largest milk producer since 1998 and emphasized the crucial role of the dairy sector in providing stable incomes to nearly two-thirds of the rural population.

Pune-based VAMNICOM celebrated the day at its campus by hoisting the national flag and reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement. Institute officials described Independence Day as an opportunity to honor resilience, innovation and the spirit of cooperation.

Several cooperative banks also joined the celebrations by sharing Independence Day messages through social media and organizing events for employees and customers.

Reports of vibrant celebrations were received from Bihar, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and several other states, where cooperative leaders unfurled the Tricolour and reiterated their dedication to the cooperative sector.

Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) across the country also celebrated the occasion with enthusiasm, demonstrating the deep-rooted presence of the cooperative movement in rural India.

As the nation commemorated 80 years of independence, the cooperative fraternity once again showcased its collective commitment to strengthening communities, empowering farmers and contributing to the vision of a developed and self-reliant India.
