Sahakar Bharati kicked off its two-day National Executive Committee Meeting at the NCUI auditorium in New Delhi last weekend. The meeting was inaugurated by its President Ramesh Vaidya and attended by over 100 office bearers.
The meeting passed many resolutions including the resolution about holding the next National Conference of Sahakar Bharati at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh this year.
On the occasion, Sahakar Bharati’s President Ramesh Vaidya, National General Secretary Uday Joshi, National Organizing Secretary Sanjay Pachpor and other senior leaders sought suggestions from the participants for the National Conference.
Besides, Sahakar Bharati Patron Jyotindrabhai Mehta, D N Thakur and top notch cooperators from different states graced the occasion.
In his presidential address Vaidya said, “Due to Covid-19, we failed to organize the NEC physically and for the first time we are organizing a meeting in Delhi after a gap of two years.
In his remarks on the occasion, apart from explaining the objectives of the NEC meeting, Uday Joshi said the Central Government has made many announcements which are benefitting the cooperative sector.
“The government is positive about the cooperative movement. Besides, Sahakar Bharti has been urging the government to create a separate ministry for the co-op sector”, Joshi added.
Several Participants suggested setting up an office in every state. Other issues discussed during the meeting were promotion of digitalization in rural areas, how to make Primary Agricultural Societies (PACs) and Primary Milk Societies a part of the National Payment System.
The issue of merger of DCCBs with State Co-op Banks was also a part of the discussions in the two-day NEC. Satish Marathe was conspicuous by his absence.
