The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare is organizing a two-day National FPO Samagam 2025 on October 30 and 31 at the NCDC and NCUI Complex in Hauz Khas, New Delhi, bringing together Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from across the country to celebrate their achievements and explore new pathways for strengthening India’s cooperative-driven farm economy.
The event marks a significant milestone under the Government’s “Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs” scheme and reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering farmers through collective enterprise, innovation, and market linkages, reads a PIB release.
More than 500 farmers from 24 states and 140 districts are taking part in the Samagam, along with Implementing Agencies, Cluster-Based Business Organizations, and leading FPOs. A total of 267 FPOs are showcasing their work and products, demonstrating how farmer collectives are transforming agriculture through cooperation and value addition. Of these, 57 FPOs are exhibiting at the NCDC campus, featuring a wide range of produce such as grains, pulses, millets, spices, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, honey, tea, coffee, dairy, and organic items.
Value-added products including jaggery, pickles, jams, herbal preparations, and traditional handcrafted foods will also be on display, highlighting the diversity and innovation emerging from India’s farming communities. The exhibition reflects the spirit of “One India – One Agriculture,” symbolizing how cooperatives from different regions are uniting to build a stronger, more market-oriented rural economy.
The Samagam will also host a series of technical sessions and interactive discussions on areas critical to the growth of FPOs and cooperatives. Topics include oilseed production, water-use efficiency, natural farming, fertilizer and pesticide management, and access to finance under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.
Institutions such as the National Bee Board, Flipkart, Hindustan Insecticides Limited, and the National Seeds Corporation are conducting sessions on honey processing, digital commerce, and seed marketing, among others. These exchanges aim to build capacity among FPOs and foster innovation in cooperative-led agribusiness.
A Buyer–Seller Meet will form another key highlight of the event, facilitating direct linkages between farmers, agri-industries, cooperatives, and e-commerce platforms. The initiative is expected to open new markets and strengthen business partnerships for rural producers. The Ministry will also felicitate high-performing FPOs, Cluster-Based Business Organizations, and Implementing Agencies for excellence in farmer mobilization, governance, and digital enablement.
The National FPO Samagam 2025 thus stands as a celebration of cooperative enterprise and farmer entrepreneurship. It showcases how FPOs, rooted in the cooperative spirit, are helping small and marginal farmers move beyond subsistence farming to build sustainable agribusinesses. By fostering innovation, inclusion, and market access, the Samagam reaffirms the government’s commitment to empowering farmers as producers, providers, and partners in India’s agricultural growth story.
