The Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (APCOB), the apex cooperative bank of Andhra Pradesh, celebrated its 63rd Foundation Day with the launch of a series of technology-driven initiatives aimed at modernizing the cooperative banking system and strengthening rural credit delivery across the state.
The celebrations, held at APCOB’s head office in Vijayawada, were attended by Commissioner for Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies Babu A., IAS, RBI Andhra Pradesh Regional Director A. Omar Basheer, NABARD Chief General Manager Somainder Singh, APCOB Chairman Ganni Veeranjaneyulu, Managing Director R. V. Ramakrishna, Board members, DCCB CEOs, PACS representatives and senior officials.
Addressing the gathering, Managing Director R. V. Ramakrishna highlighted APCOB’s six-decade journey in promoting financial inclusion, technology adoption, improved governance and timely credit support to farmers, self-help groups and cooperative institutions. He reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to building a customer-centric and future-ready cooperative banking ecosystem.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of several digital initiatives. RBI Regional Director A. Omar Basheer inaugurated the Loan Originating System (LOS) and a publication on the Cooperative Development Fund (CDF), while NABARD CGM Somainder Singh released Cooperative Spectrum 2025-26, showcasing APCOB’s achievements during the financial year.
Chairman Ganni Veeranjaneyulu also launched a Consortium Lending Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCBs), an initiative expected to facilitate coordinated financing of large-value projects, improve resource utilization and enhance the lending capacity of the cooperative banking network.
Delivering the keynote address, Babu A., IAS congratulated APCOB on completing 63 years of service and praised its efforts in digital transformation while preserving cooperative values. He virtually inaugurated the Regional Processing Centres (RPCs) and the ST Dashboard, describing them as important steps towards operational efficiency, data-driven governance and improved customer service.
The celebrations also featured a live thematic sand art performance depicting APCOB’s 63-year contribution to Andhra Pradesh’s cooperative movement and rural development, underscoring the bank’s continued focus on innovation, institutional excellence and sustainable growth.
