70,000 farmers form co-op in MP

Shivraj Singh Chauhan addresses the mediaAfter the model of  the milk product cooperative Amul, Consortium of Farmer Producers has been formed in Madhya Pradesh. The newly founded semi-governmental company has already succeeded in having 70 thousand farmers as its  share holders.

The main objective of the company is to make available to farmers quality fertilizers and  seeds.

The company would also procure grains from farmers. Both the state govt. and the central govt. have got associated with the new organization. The latter has so far covered just shy of the two dozens of districts across the state.

Informed sources say this marks a major step towards providing farmers in Madhya Pradesh with inputs and facilities in an organized  manner
