Fishcopfed delegation visits Korea

fishcopfedA thirteen-member delegation comprising of fishery cooperative leaders and officers participated in a training program at Pukyong National University, Busan, South Korea recently. The national apex fishermen cooperative federation FISHCOPFED organized the trip.

The program was fully funded by the International Cooperative Fisheries Organization (ICFO), Korea and the Korean National Fisheries Cooperative (KNFC).

Talking to Indian Cooperative the Managing Director of Fishcopfed Mr B K Mishra said that the aim of the visit was to enhance the professional competency of Indian fishery cooperators and officials in developed countries.

Mr Mishra is also the Vice-Chairman of ICFO, which is based in Korea. Mishra is the man behind organizing this trip without incurring any cost on Fishcopfed.

The training program was backed by lectures and field visits to various fish landing centres, fish markets, fishery labs etc. It was a very useful bilateral program between the two countries, Fishcopfed sources claimed.
