The process for affiliating the National Centre for Cooperative Education (NCCE) of the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) with Tribhuvan Sahkari University moved a step forward as an Inspection Committee conducted a detailed institutional review at the NCUI headquarters in New Delhi on May 7, 2026.

The visit was carried out as part of the affiliation process under the newly established university framework aimed at strengthening cooperative education and professional training in the country. The Inspection Committee comprised Prof. Shyam Singh, who chaired the committee, and Prof. Ankur Srivastava. The members were formally welcomed at the NCUI premises and presented with mementoes before the commencement of the proceedings.

Senior officials of NCUI and NCCE participated in the interactions with the visiting team. Among those present were Rajeev Sharma, Executive Director, NCCE; Ashish Dwivedi, Executive Director, NCUI; Ritesh Dey, Executive Director, NCUI; Smt. Sandhya Kapoor, Director; Smt. Dipti Yadav, Deputy Director, NCCE; and Smt. Inderpreet Kaur, Assistant Director, NCCE.

A comprehensive presentation was made before the committee outlining the activities and achievements of NCUI and NCCE. The presentation highlighted various training programmes, educational initiatives, skill development activities, and institutional contributions made toward strengthening the cooperative movement in India. Officials also briefed the committee on academic outreach, capacity-building programmes, and future plans aligned with the objectives of cooperative sector reforms.

As part of the inspection, the committee members toured the NCUI campus and reviewed the institution’s infrastructure. They visited classrooms, the library, and hostel facilities to assess academic and residential arrangements available for trainees and students. The inspection team also examined the institutional preparedness for academic affiliation under the university structure.

The committee interacted with faculty members and invited experts associated with cooperative education and training. Distinguished guests present during the interaction included S. K. Tucker, Senior Advisor, National Cooperative Development Corporation; M. K. Gandhi, Senior Advisor, NCDC; S. C. Pradhan, Principal, DSCTC; and Dr. V. K. Dubey, Managing Director, COBI. The experts shared their perspectives on cooperative education, institutional development, and the growing importance of professional training in the cooperative sector.

The visit concluded with verification of records and documents related to affiliation, followed by a debriefing session with officials and faculty members of NCCE. The inspection is considered an important milestone in integrating cooperative education institutions with the broader academic framework envisioned under Tribhuvan Sahkari University.
