Nafcub Prez invites PM Modi

nafcubThe President of National Federation of Urban Co-operative Banks and Credit Societies NAFCUB, Dr Mukund Abhyankar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently in New Delhi and invited him to inaugurate the National Conference of “NAFCUB” scheduled in the month of February 2015.

Dr Abhyankar met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst his busy schedule. Lok Sabha Speaker, Mrs Sumitra Mahajan was also present during this meeting.

In the meeting Dr Abhyankar invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the National Conference of “NAFCUB” scheduled sometimes the month of February next year as a final date is yet to be finalized. The event is billed to be mega according to Nafcub sources and a large number of participants from across the states as well as foreign countries are expected to join.

According to Nafcub president Prime Minister Narendra Modi has in-principle accepted the invitation to inaugurate the National Conference of “NAFCUB”. Abhyankar informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he will confirm the inauguration once the Union Budget is presented- a job on which the world attention is focused to know the reformist agenda of the Modi government.

“NAFCUB” is the national level apex institute of urban co-operative banks and credit societies which numbers more than 1700 in the country. Earlier, H K Patil, the strongman of Karnataka headed the organization. Abhyankar took over as the President in the election last year.

The agenda of this conference is to brain-storm on the present scenario and work out future action plan for the co-operative movement. There will also be discussion on various subjects related to finance and co-operative sector. Besides others, it will be attended by the Executives of co-operative banks and credit societies from all over India, added Nafcub sources.
