Modi concludes Bharat Uday campaign

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded the Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand on Sunday. The campaign which saw several ministers touring rural areas throughout the last week was launched at Mhow on the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar.

The concluding event also coincided with National Panchayati Raj Day. Modi emphasized that facilities and services in rural areas, should be at par with the cities.

The Prime Minister exhorted the Panchayat Representatives to use their tenure to work towards serving the people by aiming to bring about transformative change in the villages.

In particular, he said women members can play a leadership role in areas such as toilet construction.

Meanwhile, union agriculture minister Radhamohan Singh has been on the go touring states. Singh has covered Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, etc.  He addressed Gram Kisan Sabhas at different locations and coached farmers on govt schemes.

Singh said the govt is committed to empower farmers through Gram Uday se Bharat Uday Abhiyan. A huge number of farmers and officials were generally present in Singh’s meetings.

Doubling farmers’ income is the main motto and the Modi govt is committed to achieve this, Singh said. Experts believe the govt is indeed taking initiatives asking all the concerned agencies to bring information on the farmers’ doorstep.
