Indian Cooperative Impact: Govt gives 2 months extension to Tripathy

By the evening of the day Indian Cooperative published a story titled “Vamnicom: Tripathy’s tenure ends today but there is none to take charge!”, the Ministry babus woke up and took note of the confusion.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare gave an extension of the deputation term of Pune based Vamnicom Director Dr. K K Tripathy for a further period of two months w.e.f. 27-11-2020.

The letter of extension was released on Thursday late evening which was signed by K R Meena, Director (CPC). The letter reads, “Extension of the deputation term of Dr. K.K. Tripathy, Director, VAMNICOM, Pune -Reg”.

“The undersigned is directed to refer to the subject cited above and convey the approval of this Department for extension of the present deputation term of Dr. K.K. Tripathy, Director, VAMNICOM, Pune for a further period of two months w.e.f. 27-11-2020 or till the joining of new incumbent to the post of Director, VAMNICOM, Pune whichever is earlier on usual terms and conditions of deputation as has already been conveyed vide this Department OM No. A-11-11/4/2016-CET dated 2nd November, 2017. This is issued with the approval of the competent authority”, according to the letter.

The tenure of Tripathy was completed on 26 November 2020 and as reported, he did not seek extension. Before the releasing of order on Thursday morning Indian Cooperative had published a news article related to the delaying process of appointing a new director in Vamnicom.

The Ministry sources say the Union Agriculture Minister has put his stamp on the name of Dr Hema Yadav, Director, NIAM, Jaipur, Rajasthan but her formal joining would be possible only after 4-5 months. The name has to be sent to the DoPT, ACC (Appointment Committee of Cabinet) and others”, the official said.
