GSCCSF holds seminar; Amin expounds at PM’s vision on co-ops

Gujarat State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation Ltd., Ahmedabad, organized the State Level Co-operative Credit Societies Seminar – 2024 on February 24th, 2024, at Devbhoomi Dwarka. The event centered around the theme of “The Role of Co-operative Credit Societies for Prosperity through Co-operation.”

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Omprakash Koyte, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Co-operative Credit Societies Federation. Koyte highlighted the significance of mutual cooperation between states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Karnataka in fostering cooperative activities. He proposed the formation of a National Level Co-operative Federation to further enhance collaboration and development in the cooperative sector.

Ghanshyambhai H. Amin, the Founder Chairman of the Federation, emphasized the pivotal role of Co-operative Credit Sector in socio-economic development. He echoed the vision of  Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi for achieving a $5 trillion economy through cooperative initiatives.

During the seminar, Amitbhai Shah, Hon’ble Minister for Home and Co-operation, pledged to establish two lakh new credit societies for the benefit of small and middle-class farmers. The importance of expanding credit societies was underscored, with Gujarat boasting over 6,300 and Maharashtra over 16,000 such societies.

Sanjay Hosmat, the Director of Karnataka State Co-operative Societies Federation, advocated for the formation of a National Level Federation to address challenges faced by the cooperative credit sector. He emphasized its crucial role in realizing the economic vision set forth by Prime Minister Modi.

The seminar also witnessed informative sessions led by experts. Shri Y. S. Patil from Vamnicom, Pune, discussed the significance of Information Technology in updating Co-operative Credit Societies. Shveta Barai from Microensure highlighted the importance of insurance in the cooperative credit sector. Shri Shrikant Mule of Posit Software So. Pvt. Ltd. and Shri Jitendra Shah of Netwin Soft provided insights into various services beneficial for credit societies.

J.J. Shah, a Subject Expert, emphasized the need for cooperative credit societies to prioritize the welfare of their members. He stressed adherence to cooperative values, laws, and regulations to ensure efficient operation.

The seminar also saw the presence of dignitaries like Shri H. T. Nagesh and S. S. Gadge from Karnataka Federation, who offered guidance and solutions to representatives of credit societies.

Dr. Jivrajbhai Godhani delivered the welcome address, and R. M. Patel proposed the vote of thanks. The event was skillfully anchored by Shri Alpeshbhai Rawal, with the efforts of staff members acknowledged by Shri Dushyantsinh Vaghela, Executive Officer of the Federation.

Overall, the seminar served as a platform for cooperative leaders to exchange ideas and strategies for fostering prosperity through cooperation in the credit sector.
