Campco: Kodgi replaces Satishchandra; Vice-Prez re-elected

Kishore Kumar Kodgi, an active member of Sahakar Bharati has been elected unopposed as the President of Mangalore headquartered Chocolate Co-operative, Campco. The election for President and Vice President were held on Sunday. Kodgi has replaced S R Satishchandra.

Besides, Shankaranarayana Bhat K has been re-elected as the Vice-President of Campco. Both Kodgi and Bhat have already assumed office and their term will be for five years.

Talking to Indian Cooperative, Kodgi said, “For the last 15 years I have been on the board of Campco and also a member of Sahakar Bharati. Earlier for two years I was the president of Kundapura Taluka of Udupi district, Karnataka. I am sure that with the support of board members, I will meet the expectations of the members”, he said.

“Firstly, I will focus on safeguarding the interest of arecanut farmers and will make plans and policies for strengthening them. Besides, we are in the process of launching a pepper unit at Puttur City till March. We will also adopt new age technologies”, said Kodgi.

It bears recall that Karnataka Chapter of Sahakar Bharati candidates have swept the election of Mangalore based Chocolate Cooperative Campco. Out of 16 unanimously elected directors drawn from Karnataka and Kerala, a majority belongs to the Sahakar Bharati.

The Campco board election was held recently and all the 16 directors have been elected unopposed. As the area of operations of Campco is in two states, 8-8 directors from each state Karnataka and Kerala have been elected. Out of 16 directors, seven are newcomers and the rest are from the outgoing board.

It bears recall that Karnataka Chapter of Sahakar Bharati candidates have swept the election. Out of 16 unanimously elected directors drawn from Karnataka and Kerala, a majority belongs to the Sahakar Bharati.

The elected directors from Karnataka include Dayananda Hegde, Kishore Kumar Kodgi, Krishna Prasad Madthila, M Mahesh Chowta, Raghavendra Bhat, S R Satishchandra, Raghavendra H M, Shambhulinga Ganapati.

The elected directors from Kerala are Jayaprakash Narayana, Jayarama Saralaya, K Balakrishna Rai, Radhakrishnan K, Sathyanaryana Prasad, Suresh Kumar Shetty, Padmaraj Pattaje, Shankaranarayana Bhat.

Recently Campco rolled out two new eclair products. This was launched in the cooperative’s chocolate factory at Puttur.
