Mangal Jit meets Shah; invites him to mega dairy co-op conclave

National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India (NCDFI) Chairman Mangal Jit Rai met Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah recently at New Delhi and invited him to inaugurate an Indian Dairy Cooperative Conclave to be organized in Gangtok, Sikkim tentatively in November or December.

Talking to Indian Cooperative Rai said, “I came to congratulate him for taking the charge of the newly formed cooperative ministry and invited him for the conclave. It was a fruitful meeting. I also informed him about the developments in the Cooperative Dairy sector and the work being carried out by the apex organization, NCDFI”.

“He assured me to give the necessary help when there is any need. I expressed my gratitude towards the Govt. for increased focus and various initiatives taken by the Central Govt. for the development of the North-East region”, Rai said, who is also the governing council member of NCUI.

As soon as he met Shah, the news spread like wildfire on social media platforms. His followers started sharing the news.

The theme of the conference would be “Resilient Indian Dairy Cooperatives – Exploring the Challenges and Opportunities”. The objective of the conclave is to discuss various trends in the Dairy Cooperatives Sector and chalk out future strategic policy directions for the sector.

It will be attended by as many as 2000 delegates representing various segments of the Dairy Cooperative Sector, Private Dairy Sector, International Organizations like Food and Agriculture Organizations of United Nation (FAO), ILO, Government of India, State Governments, organisations involved in Dairy Cooperative Development such as NDDB,

NABARD, NCDC, IRMA, Agricultural & Animal Husbandry Universities etc. and Dairy Farmers, State Cooperative Dairy Federation, Dairy and Milk Unions and Dairy Cooperative Societies, he added.

It bears recall that Mangal Jit was recently in news due to his dissent note submitted in NCUI’s Governing Council meeting held recently. Jit had opposed the dismissal of NCCT Secretary Mohan Mishra from the employment of the apex body.
