The next date of hearing has been fixed for November 18. Two legal luminaries represented each side- Kapil Sibal was for Vipul Chaudhary while Tushar Mehta was representing GCMMF.
Sibal argued that a Chairman cannot be evicted without sacrificing the dignity of the process while Tushar Mehta defended the decision on the strength of the cooperative principles where majoritarian point of view is the guiding principle of governance.
Chaudhary was voted out by the board through a no-confidence motion on December 12, 2013, and the Gujarat HC dismissed his plea against his ouster in February.
