Factional fighting spoilt the recent annual general meeting of the Baroda district cooperative milk producers’ union in Vadodara. As the warring factions indulged in shouting at each other, the proceedings could not take place as planned.
Shaileh Patel chairman of the Baroda Dairy was heckled at the meeting by the dairy’s former vice-chairman Ajitsingh Thakore.
About five thousand members of the union were present in the meeting.
The Baroda Dairy is one of the several dairy unions composing GCMMF that sells popular brand Amul. Despite noise and confusion in the AGM, all items on the agenda were adopted unanimously.
