I am a French journalist, correspondent in India for the main French daily newspaper Le Monde. I am currently writing an article on the Indian cooperative movement, and I had a few questions:
1) Can you tell me the exact (or approximate) number of cooperative societies in India, and how many members in total?
2) In some sectors, cooperatives are struggling while they are leading organizationsin other sectors (like dairy with Amul). Why is that?
3) What is the main challenge of the cooperative sector nowadays?
