Anirudh Rathore

I am from Delhi and living in Co-operative society in Dwarka region. We have two flats in same society – one under my father’s name and second under my father’s friend name (but we take care all). Today we have AGM in our society but when I join this meeting, some members said I should not be allowed to seat in this meeting. As my father was out of country, so I thought I should attend this meeting. Please advise can children be allowed in AGM meeting or not.

I C Naik

AGM is of Members only…

Look at following provisions of Delhi Cooperative Societies Act.

Section 25. Every member of a co-operative society shall have one vote in the affairs of the cooperative

society :

(b) a nominal or associate or joint member shall not have the right of vote;

Also have a look at Section 26 namely

26.(1) Every member of a co-operative society shall exercise his vote in person and no

member shall be permitted to vote by proxy.
