Outstanding contributions to strengthening the cooperative movement in Uttar Pradesh were recognised at the Youth Cooperative Conference–2025, held during the concluding celebrations of the International Year of Cooperatives.
District magistrates, cooperative officials and banking representatives were honoured for exceptional performance in expanding membership, improving infrastructure and mobilising deposits.
Varanasi District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar, IAS, was specially commended for reinforcing the cooperative framework during his tenure in Maharajganj, Barabanki and Varanasi.
Under his leadership, 62 PACS and four cooperative unions were renovated, significantly improving storage facilities and inter-departmental coordination. In Barabanki alone, 37 B-PACS offices and warehouses were rejuvenated, while land was allotted under the world’s largest grain storage scheme.
Maharajganj District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma, IAS, received recognition for enrolling a record 1.22 lakh new members and adding 28,000 online members under the MPACS Membership Maha Abhiyan–2025.
District cooperative bank leadership from Maharajganj, Shahjahanpur, Unnao, Meerut, Ghaziabad and Lakhimpur Kheri were also honoured for achieving the highest membership growth and deposit mobilisation, reinforcing public trust in cooperative institutions.
