Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said that the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has disbursed a total of Rs 3,504.4 crore in financial assistance to women cooperatives across India over the last three financial years (2022-23 to 2024-25).
According to official data, the disbursement was Rs 1,437.24 crore in 2022-23, Rs 711.55 crore in 2023-24, and Rs 1,355.61 crore in 2024-25. The assistance includes support for infrastructure development, with Rs 2.37 crore allocated specifically for such projects during the period.
Among the states, Andhra Pradesh emerged as the largest beneficiary, receiving a whopping Rs 3,185.24 crore, followed by Telangana with Rs 295.11 crore and Maharashtra with Rs 20.25 crore. Other states that received support include Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Bihar, though in relatively smaller amounts.
