The Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority (WDRA) has stepped up efforts to promote the registration of PACS godowns in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the benefits of WDRA registration and the electronic Negotiable Warehouse Receipt (e-NWR) system.
As part of the initiative, WDRA officials met Kumar Prashant, IAS, Commissioner for Cooperation & Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Uttar Pradesh, in Lucknow.
During the meeting, the officials highlighted the benefits of WDRA registration, the role of e-NWRs and various relaxations available to Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
The WDRA team also invited the Registrar to attend its upcoming WDRA Outreach Programme, scheduled to be held at BBDU, Lucknow, on September 9, 2026.
The Registrar assured WDRA of the department’s support in encouraging PACS across Uttar Pradesh to obtain WDRA registration, which is expected to strengthen warehousing facilities and improve farmers’ access to formal storage and financing mechanisms.
