Vishweshwar Sahakari Bank: Apte takes over as CEO

Shriram Apte has been given the charge of CEO of Pune based Vishweshwar Sahakari Bank. Apte has replaced Satish Gandhe who was given a warm send off on 31st May in the presence of several eminent dignitaries.

Apte, who had worked for over 38 years as the Deputy General Manager in Janata Sahakari Bank, Pune. Last year in December, Apte had joined the Vishweshwar Sahakari Bank as GM.

Gandhe who had worked for more than a decade as the CEO in the bank has been credited for almost doubling the UCB’s business during his tenure. Before leaving office, Gandhe had done the spectacular work in the field of maintaining NPAs. The bank’s Net NPA decreased from 5.14% to 0% whereas Gross NPA reduced from 7.73 percent to 1.93 percent in the 2018-19 financial year.

In a message sent to Indian Cooperative Gandhe wrote, “I retired from our Bank’s services on 31st May 2019. I am thankful to the members and well-wishers for their cooperation & patronage. Please extend cooperation to Shri Shriram Apte, General Manager of our Bank who has been given the charge of CEO of the Bank. I wish him every success in future.”

Vishweshar Sahakari Bank, Pune was established in 1972 under the leadership of Namdeorao Rukari, Bharatsheth Gadve & Baburao Harpale. The bank is having a network of 28 branches in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

According to sources,Gandhe is planning to give his services as a Karyakarta (Worker) of RSS affiliated wing Sahakar Bharati.
