The NCUI Governing Council elections marked a defining moment for Vishal Singh, who emerged as one of the key architects behind Sahakar Bharati’s emphatic victory, strengthening his place in a cooperative legacy built by his grandfather, the late Tapeshwar Singh, and his father, the late Ajit Singh. Tapeshwar Singh was one of the country’s most respected cooperative leaders and had served as President of NCUI.
Several senior cooperative leaders told this correspondent that Vishal Singh played a crucial role in consolidating Sahakar Bharati’s support during the elections. Besides extending logistical support, he remained personally available to the organization’s top leadership, which had been camping in Delhi for nearly a week to coordinate the campaign.
His efforts were reflected in the results, with Vishal registering the highest victory margin in his category. Sahakar Bharati National President Dr. Uday Joshi and senior cooperative leader Jyotindra Mehta both acknowledged his significant contribution while speaking to this correspondent.
With most of the successful candidates belonging to the Sahakar Bharati fold, Vishal worked closely with many of the winners throughout the campaign. His close associate from Bihar, Vinay Kumar Shahi, also emerged victorious in the elections.
In a gesture that won widespread appreciation, Vishal stepped in to arrange lunch for delegates who had travelled from across the country after it became evident that no lunch arrangements had been made by NCUI on polling day.
Observers said Vishal’s efficient handling of the campaign and his attention to every detail showcased his emerging leadership. As one senior observer remarked, “It may not be long before Vishal occupies the position once held by his father and grandfather in the cooperative movement.”
