Union Ministry of Cooperation Joint Secretary D. K. Verma visited Maharashtra’s Jalna district Ankushrao Tope Samarth Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana on Sunday last week.
During his visit, Verma interacted with the Board of Directors of the Karkhana and showed keen interest in understanding the actual functioning and activities of the cooperative sugar factory.
He enquired about the positive socio-economic impact of the Karkhana on farmers and the local community.
The management apprised him of the various challenges being faced by the cooperative sugar industry. Verma took cognizance of these concerns and assured that the issues raised would be looked into at the appropriate level.
He lauded the pioneering efforts of the Karkhana’s founder, late Ankushrao Tope, and extended his congratulations to the present management under the leadership of Rajesh Tope. Verma also paid homage to the founder at his memorial during the visit.
