Verma inaugurates International Trainees Hostel at Vamnicom

Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), Pune, under the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new International Trainees Hostel, “SANGAM,” on March 1st, 2024.

The inauguration ceremony, held at 2:00 PM, was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri. B. L. Verma, Honorable Minister of State for Cooperation and Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India, who inaugurated the hostel.

The event also saw distinguished guests including Dr. Manoj Nardevsing, Secretary of the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO), New Delhi, and (Dr.) Parag Kalkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), among others.

Director of VAMNICOM, Dr. Hema Yadav, highlighted the institute’s achievements in training over 15,000 cooperative participants, with a focus on women empowerment and international collaboration. The newly established hostel, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, marks a significant step towards showcasing India’s cooperative success globally.

Shri. B.L. Verma commended VAMNICOM’s efforts in training over 60,000 participants and emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to supporting cooperative development. The inauguration of “SANGAM” underscores India’s dedication to promoting international cooperation in the cooperative sector.
