The Maharashtra government has reviewed a set of critical infrastructure issues concerning the Venkateshwara Cooperative Power and Agro Processing Ltd. project at Ajang-Malegaon in Nashik district, with a focus on ensuring timely support for the cooperative agricultural initiative.
A meeting was held at Mantralaya, Mumbai, to discuss the commencement of the approved water supply, provision of the required electricity connection, and extension of the lease period to 33 years for the project.
The discussions focused on resolving the pending infrastructure and administrative requirements that are essential for the smooth functioning and expansion of the cooperative agro-processing project.
Former Member of Parliament Dr. Vikas Mahatme and officials from the concerned government departments were present during the meeting.
The project is positioned as an important cooperative-sector initiative in Nashik, where reliable water and power infrastructure, along with a longer lease tenure, could provide greater operational stability and support future investment.
The meeting signals renewed efforts to address key bottlenecks and facilitate the development of cooperative-led agricultural processing in the region.
