Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah stated that the Ministry of Cooperation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, the Reserve Bank, and the Income Tax Department, has taken steps to establish a unified tax structure for both the corporate and cooperative sectors.
He made this statement while chairing the first meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Cooperation on ‘Initiatives Taken and Currently Being Implemented to Strengthen Cooperative Societies’ in New Delhi on Tuesday.
Shah also expressed confidence that enterprises associated with the country’s cooperative sector will advance in competition with the corporate world and contribute to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi.”
Amit Shah emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that the cooperative sector receives the same opportunities as the corporate sector.
