UCB leaders thank Shah profusely cutting across states

When Indian Cooperative Correspondent Rohit Gupta talked to the UCB leaders who had assembled to greet Amit Shah at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Thursday evening, he found them very happy with the positive developments happening in the urban cooperative banking sector under the leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

Talking to the Indian Cooperative, Maharashtra based Dombivli Nagari Sahakari Bank Chairman Ganesh Dhargalkar said, “We were happy to be here to extend our thanks to the Union Home and Cooperation Minister. As soon as the separate Ministry for cooperation was formed, the positive developments in the cooperative sector have been seen. Things are taking shape and we are hoping that pending issues related to the UCB sector will also be resolved”.

Pune based Vishweshwar Sahakari Bank Chairman Anil Gadve said, “It is a matter of pride for us to say ‘thanks’ to the Union Cooperation Minister for his role in resolving the various issues related to the Urban Cooperative Banking sector. Several issues related to opening of branches of UCBs, provision of OTS of outstanding loans, providing door-step banking services, doubling individual housing loan limits and others”.

In his reaction, Janata Sahakari Bank, Pune CEO Jagdish Kashyap said, “Many new things have happened as far as the urban cooperative banking sector is concerned. This is only possible because of the able leadership of the Union Cooperation Minister. Many of the long pending issues have been fulfilled and a few of them will also be resolved.

Uttarakhand Cooperative Bank Secretary S S Rana also expressed his happiness about the recent developments in the cooperative sector.

The ‘Bharat Mandapam’ Level-1 was filled with the co-operators who travelled from long distances to become a part of the event. Speaking on the occasion, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah urged cooperators to double the business to Rs 11 lac in the next five years.
