In a major stride towards sustainable and circular dairying, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Sabarkantha District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. (Sabar Dairy), and Suzuki R&D Center India Pvt. Ltd. (SRDI) have entered into a tripartite agreement to establish a Compressed Bio-Methane Gas (CBG) Plant at Boria, Himmatnagar, in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr. Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB, by S. Rajeev, Executive Director, NDDB; Kenichiro Toyofuku, Director, SRDI; and Subhashchandra Patel, Managing Director, Sabar Dairy.
The upcoming 75 MTPD dung-based CBG plant will convert dairy waste into clean bio-methane gas and produce nutrient-rich organic fertiliser as a by-product.
This initiative aims to enhance soil health, reduce dependency on chemical fertilisers, and promote climate-resilient agriculture, while generating additional income opportunities for dairy farmers.
