Tribal cooperative marketing development federation of India [Trifed] will be the agency responsible for implementing the plan of setting up processing units for minor food produce in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, reports New Indian Express.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs will establish processing units in order to increase income of the tribal population.
The plan will be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries under the project name of ‘Trifood’.
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda virtually launched the Trifood project in Raigad, Maharashtra and Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh.
