Trifed controversy refuses to die down

The Union Tribal Affairs Ministry has not taken kindly to Ramsinh Rathwa chairman TRIFED suspending Geetanjali Gupta the managing director of TRIFED for ”administrative mismanagement”, media reports say.

The ministry has declared the chairman’s order as null and void. Rathwa, who has been a four time MP, is not happy with the Ministry’s decision.

The matter has its genesis in a meeting called by Trifed in which two RSS leaning bodies were invited.  Some officers of TRIFED led by MD did not attend the meeting saying two bodies are RSS-affiliated organizations. These were Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram and Sahakar Bharati.

Sources familiar with the development say that the lack of agreement between the chairman and the managing director over several issues has led to conflicts between them.
